Kindergarten Connections
Brought to you by Ms. Groner
Welcome Back!!
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a joyful yet relaxing break! We have hit the ground running, already, this year! I wanted to thank you all for your amazing support and help through out the school year so far. I feel incredibly blessed to have such amazing students and supportive families. Keep up the hard work and encouragement at home!
Happy New Year!
This week we are learning about different traditions and ways that people celebrate the New Years holiday. We are comparing and contrasting the Chinese New Year and American New Year. We have gained a lot of knowledge about traditions and customs and we are even making our own New Year resolutions.
Curriculum Connections
The kiddos have been working so hard and making amazing progress. We are learning how to stretch out words to help us read and write them. We are focusing on reading and writing CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant). These are words such as CAT, BAT, MAT, HOG, FOG, LOG. I am so surprised and impressed at each students ability to take risks in order to attempt reading and writing! We are also reviewing shapes (square, rectangle, circle, rhombus, trapezoid, hexagon, and triangles) Please review these shapes with your child at home.

Work Books
Each student received a Math workbook before the Winter Holiday Break. Please feel free to work on pages, with your child, at your own pace. We have not covered all of the content in the workbooks yet, but I wanted to provide each student with the opportunity to practice math concepts at home. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Winter has Arrived!
Since it has gotten colder, we want to make sure all of our kiddos are staying warm and well. In order to help us keep up with our warm clothing can you please make sure that your child's name is written on the inside of their jackets.
