Hello Leland Comets!
It is that time of year again! I hope you enjoy stretching out the last days of summer break. Before you unplug for the weekend be sure to give the weekly update a glance for information important to your family. You can also follow along on Instagram @lelandpublicschool
Teacher Work Days
Teachers have just completed their first official week back in the school. This week teachers completed rigorous trainings and worked hard to problem solve for the coming year. A highlight of the week was the key note speaker and exercises in high performance psychology facilitated by our very own... Alisha Glass Childress! After her successes with Leland, Penn State, the US Olympic team and more, Alisha continues to play volleyball professionally while working for a high performance psych company called "Finding Mastery". Finding Mastery helps top athletes and professionals train their -minds- to be strong, just like one would train their body or hone their craft. LPS staff can't wait to share these high level skills in vision, perspective, gratitude and problem solving with students!
**Important Change In Schedule
A change was made to the Leland Public School Academic Calendar. Students will not have school on Tuesday, November 1st rather than Monday, November 7th for Teacher In-Service.
