Senior Reminders!

CSU and UC Application Deadline: November 30th

Letters of Recommendation

If you still need a letter of recommendation for your college applications, please book an appointment with your counselor as soon as possible! The last day for appointments is November 15th.

Transcripts

Please be sure to request your transcripts if you need them sent to the colleges you're applying to! Follow these steps to do so:



  1. Complete the Permission to Release School Record Information form and turn in to your counselor.
  2. Login to Naviance.
  3. Select the "Colleges" tab.
  4. Click "Colleges I'm Applying To" and list all colleges you will be submitting applications to.
  5. From the same screen, you can request transcripts either under "resources" on the left side bar or the hyperlink at the top of the college list.
  6. Please notify your counselor each time you submit additional transcript requests (Naviance does not automatically notify the counselor of your request)

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA application for the 2020-2021 school year opened on October 1st. If you are planning to attend college next year and are hoping to receive federal financial aid such as student loans and/or grants, make sure to fill out the FAFSA application!

HEFAR Group College Finance Information

With so many acronyms such as the FAFSA, EFC, and CSS, it can be confusing and difficult to navigate money for college. The HEFAR Group attempts to make this easier for students by providing the information they need to plan finances for post-secondary education. Opportunities for Students & Families

Interested in taking the ASVAB?

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test is a timed multi-aptitude test, which is given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Department of Defense.

You can visit this website for more information.



This test will be given on Thursday, November 7th, at 7:30am at Rancho Bernardo High School. Students from any PUSD high school that does not offer the test may sign up. Just bring your school ID!

UCSD APSA's 26th Annual High School Conference

UCSD's Asian & Pacific Islander Student Alliance (APSA) invites Westview students to visit our campus and attend workshops such as college application workshops or identity based workshops. We will also be bringing in amazing Asian American and Pacific Islander guest speakers and alumni to come and speak and share their stories of pursuing higher education and their current careers. Our conference will be providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and can accommodate any food restrictions.

El departamento de asesoría universitaria invita a las familias hispanohablantes de Parker a nuestro evento informativo sobre la preparación para la universidad.

Vamos a presentar los requisitos incluyendo cursos, calificaciones, horas de servicio comunitario, deportes y recomendaciones. También se ofrecerá información sobre la solicitud de matrícula y el proceso de admisión a instituciones de educación superior. Vamos a informar acerca de los tipos de ayuda financiera, becas, programas de trabajo estudio y préstamos. También hablaremos de las solicitudes que necesitarán llenar, por ejemplo FAFSA y Cal Grant.

El evento se llevará a cabo el sábado, 9 de noviembre de las 9 am a las 12 pm en Francis Parker School (Student Life Center, 20 piso).
