EPR Information - Update
We believe that communicating with our parents about a child's progress is the best way to help them continue to learn and grow. Your child's Elementary Progress Report (EPR) was ready to download on December 23rd. Our teachers put a lot of time and energy into creating these documents to communicate progress and we want to make sure that you have access to it. Each classroom teacher in grades 1st-6th will be sending home a hard copy of the EPR by Friday, January 20th. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or want to discuss anything.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Colorado Mandated Testing Update
CMAS and CoAlt are the assessments that are mandated by the Colorado Department of Education. These assessments are given to our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders. All 3rd-6th students take the Math and English Language Arts assessments. Additionally, 5th grade takes a science assessment. Please make every effort to not schedule student appointments during testing times.
You can find more information about testing, including the testing schedule and opt-out information, on our school website HERE.

Physical Education News:
Happy New Year! This semester students will continue working on teamwork and collaboration skills through games and fitness activities. PE units this quarter will include: Bowling, Volleyball, and Jump Rope skills which will lead us into the Kids Heart Challenge in February and March. If heart disease and stroke are near and dear to your family, your child will have the opportunity to contribute donations toward the American Heart Association (AHA). The Kids Heart Challenge kick-off will be the week of February 20th, and will run through March 10th. More information will be coming soon. Every student will participate during the Kids Heart Challenge activities during PE class. Raising donations for the AHA will be completely optional.
AN IMPORTANT REMINDER…
Athletic shoes are recommended and preferred for safe participation during PE class. Crocs, boots with heels, flip flops, and sandals may be comfortable to wear, but are not the safest to wear during a physical education class. Please refer to the Specials Rotation Schedule to know when your child has PE, Music, Art, and Library.

Join CCE PTO and King Soopers Contest
Did you know that CCE earned $8k through the King Soopers Community Rewards program last year?! Even more amazing is that this huge total was generated by only having 150 families signed up and identifiying CCE as the nonprofit organization that receives the benefits when they shop! Imagine how much we could raise if we had more participation? To accomplish that goal we're introducing a King Soopers Contest!
A few times during the school year the PTO will have a drawing for a $25 King Soopers gift card. To be eligible to win all you have to do is link your King Soopers account to Coyote Creek PTO and email a screen shot showing your enrollment!
Here's how to do it:
- Go to the app, click on the three lines icon on the upper right corner
- ***New users will need to create a King Soopers account which requires basic
- information, a valid email address and a rewards card.***
- 2. Click on "Rewards"
- 3. Then "Community Rewards"
- 4. Under “Link your Card to an organization” click on the link labeled “here” to search
- for Coyote Creek PTO either by name or WX862
- 5. Click Enroll
To be entered into the raffle:
Take a screenshot of your enrollment and email it to PTO Treasurer Amy Haines and you are in the drawing for the $25 King Soopers giftcard! To be entered into the first raffle send your email by 12/31/22 at midnight MST.
Are you already enrolled?
Thank you! Take a screenshot of your enrollment (under "Rewards" and "Community Rewards" and email it to Amy Haines and you are ALSO entered in the drawing for the $25 King Soopers giftcard!
Rules:
Drawings will be held 4 times this school year. The first one is from the screenshots received now through October 31st at midnight MST. Winner will be chosen via random number generator. If you win at any point during the year, you cannot win again. If you don't win, you don't need to reenter the drawing, your name will stay in the pool all year.
Bonus idea: Enter your other family members, coworkers, neighbors, dog walkers, etc. and send a screenshot from them for more entries to win! Staff is welcome to enter as well. Good luck and thank you!
