Afternoon Preschool Newsletter
Week of March 7, 2016
This week in Pre-K:
We have had a great time with Dr. Seuss and celebrating the Lady Cougars heading to state basketball for the first time in school history!
The kids also had a lot of fun at the dentist, and learned about germs this week...be sure to ask them!
This week we will be learning about the letters e and w. With these letters comes a lot of weather talk!
Also at this time all children should have a good handle on zipping their own coat, so keep up the great work at home. I also remind parents to keep that in mind when buying that spring jacket. The children will be zipping their own. This is a great skill to develop eye/hand coordination, and finger strength.
This is pretty big kid stuff and they love it!
Keep up the great work with counting games, patterning, and writing last names at home, we are moving on to letter sounds, rhyming words, and number recognition.
We also are learning about the parts of a book (author, illustrator, cover, spine). We will be comparing how various books are the same/different.

Just a reminder:
Please make sure you have a change of clothes and socks in the back packs. We have sent home our supply with various kiddos for various reasons, so if you have them please wash them and send them back.
March Home/School Connection:
In March we have a lot of fun looking for rainbows and leprechauns!! This is your chance to get involved in the fun... Make a leprechaun trap with your child. Here are the guidelines to follow:
- keep it small-no bigger than an oatmeal canister or child size shoe box (space is limited)
- bring to school on or before Wednesday, March 16th.
- Have fun and get creative!
