From the desk of Mrs. Humphries
It was great to see so many families join us for our student-led conferences. It’s nice to be a part of a great school community that is invested in the education of their children. Please continue to ask your child how his or her day is and how they are growing towards their goals.
Before Fall Break we had our monthly Gold Pride Time when we celebrated many students' accomplishments and shared our school-wide shout outs. Congratulations to all of our Students of the Month! If you would like to give a shout out to a student who is displaying Gold Pride expectations, or a staff member you would like to recognize, please fill out a shout out in our office when you are at the Gold Academy. This is a great way to be part of building a positive school culture.
I hope everyone had a wonderful, and relaxing Fall Break. This week we spent time reviewing our Gold Pride expectations and our students took a pledge to lead a drug and alcohol free life. Every day this week we had a different theme, bringing focus to us all leading healthier, drug free lives.
Next week, October 31st is Halloween. I know many of our families will have fun Trick or Treating or participating in many activities. Please keep in mind that we will not be wearing costumes to school and we ask that students do not bring in bags of candy the next day.
As we start to get into a change of weather, change of seasons, or just in case of an emergency, student illness, please make sure to update your contact information in Skyward and check Parent Square Messages.

3. Emotion Management: Children learn how to calm down when they have strong feelings, such as worry or anger.
