From the Principal...
Dear Seton Community,
We are excited and happy to say that we are off to a great start. We have many students who are attending face to face, and some who are attending virtually. At any time, our Seton students are able to switch back and forth between the two options. Most frequently, you may need to use the virtual option for illness, isolation, or quarantine.
We had a few hiccups in the beginning of our virtual learning, but we think we have things set up smoothly now. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind if you would like your child(ren) to attend virtually.
Call the office first so that we are aware of your situation.
If needed, you will receive a “day of grace.” This means that your child will be marked absent (excused for illness, unexcused for other) and not expected to attend virtually for the first day so that they can get materials and devices organized.
Books or devices (including chargers) will be in the office for pick up.
Your teacher(s) will set up a day/time with you for additional materials pick ups for long-term absences.
BOTH the parents and the student (grades 4 through 8) will be sent the Zoom invite on day one of the virtual period. It will be a recurring Zoom so that you do not need a new invite everyday.
Zoom will be started PRIOR to 7:55 am so the student will be ready for morning attendance.
In order for your child(ren) to be marked as present for attendance, he/she needs to visible on camera.
Students must be in attendance and visible for all classes except art, phy.ed., and breaks like lunch, snack, recess, study hall, and Mass.
Please be patient, positive, and professional at all times. We are all learning, including school staff, and though it is a bumpy road we are doing what is best for kids.
If you have questions about the virtual option, please contact your child's teacher or Dr. Nardi.
We continue to pray for the health and safety of all of our Seton families. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Nardi, Principal
