Talent Show Update

This week we will be having our SLC talent show on Monday (9:30-10:30), Wednesday (9:30-11:00) and possibly Thursday (9:30-We're finished:). A parent volunteer is graciously organizing this show. It is a very low key, fun for the kids event. We don't know exactly who is performing when or how many acts we will get finished each day. We will be sure to video all of our participants and share with you. We are also going to try and live stream it so that even if you can't be here, you'll be able to join us! If your child is participating in the event, we will email you the minute we know more details.

MONDAY DISMISSAL, Genius Hour and Potluck

This Monday, May 23rd is our final Genius Hour. If your child is not able to stay after school for this event, please email your homeroom teacher. We want to make sure we dismiss each child to the appropriate place. Also, if you are not able to stay for the dinner portion, let us know so that we can make sure we don't end up with all desserts and no main dishes (although, that wouldn't be so bad actually).

As a reminder the schedule is:

4:00-5:00 Genius Hour Presentations

5:15-6:15 Potluck Dinner in STEM Labs

TUESDAY's Influential Person Breakfast-Don't forget to dress up!

Don't forget to RSVP to Tuesdays Influential Person breakfast if you were lucky enough to get an invitation. It's very important that we know who is coming to this celebration of influential people. The kids have worked so hard studying biographies, creating timelines and building artifacts. Be sure to dress your child as the person they studied. This does not need to be anything major but adds a fun feel to this special event. If you haven't RSVP'd it's not too late. We want to try and make sure we have someone there for every student. If you can't make it, we got you covered:) This will be an event for all to remember. Look for video clips and pictures to come in an update on Tuesday so that your child can share all about this special event. If you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

WEDNESDAY is our Class Party

This Wednesday afternoon we will head outside for the

Olympic themed

class party! We are so excited. If it's nice out, be sure to send your child in comfy clothes with sunscreen and a beach towel. This will be a super fun way to celebrate a great year! Thanks to our amazing Head Room Parents for organizing this's above and beyond what they committed to so we really appreciate their hard work!

Learner's Profile and End of the Year Assessments Plus Summer Work Materials

You will see your child's Learner's Profile come home this Thursday. Along with the

profile, you will see copies of your child's end of the year assessments that we've been working on over the last month. If you have questions, about them, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, even if it's beyond Friday.

Many of you have asked for summer materials to help keep your child's skills at their best. We recommend that you keep up your reading and math fact practice. The local library has an awesome summer reading program so be sure to get signed up for that. In addition, your kids can continue to use Moby Max andXtra Math during the summer months as well. Finally, don't forget to keep up those writing skills. Your children love to write Google Docs and have experienced creating ebooks, using the Book Creator app. These would all be great options for continuing to keep writing skills fresh over the summer months. Of course, Mr. McCullough, Mrs. Frederick, and Mrs. Thoma would love to have a few pen pal letters as well this summer:) If you feel like you need more than that, please email your child's teacher and we will provide some additional work. If you have already mentioned that you wanted additional materials, this week would be a great week to email us and remind us...we do not want to forget anyone.

Don't forget to check around the house for anything that needs to come back to school!
