Colts,
Thank you! Overall, we have had a great first semester at CMS and our partnership is a big part of our campus's successes. We continue to build an excellent school together and have seen tremendous growth during the fall. This weekend officially begins our winter season and the holiday break is a perfect time for our Colts to slow down, rest, and recharge for what will be a fantastic second semester. Thank you for all that you do to help make Colleyville Middle School one of the BEST public middle schools in the state. Have a wonderful break!

2020-2021 School Year
NATIONAL HISTORY DAY AT CMS!
Over the course of this semester, 7th-grade GTIS and 8th Grade American Discoveries students have been working on extensive historical research projects, allowing them to choose not only their topic related to the year's theme but the product as well. This week, students presented their final work on "Breaking Barriers in History" to peers in the form of websites, documentaries, historical papers, exhibits, and performances.
Outstanding projects in each category will be invited to compete in Regional National History Day at the University of Texas at Arlington on March 7. Top winners from the regional competition move on to State in Austin, Texas in April.
Congratulations to all of our students for their accomplishments!

Counselor Corner (Week of January 6 - January 10th )
CMS STUDENT ADVOCATE: We are excited to announce that we will be adding a new position to our CMS counseling team when we return in January. Mrs. Tammy Higgins will serve as our temporary student advocate and will be on campus three days per week next semester. Then, in the 2020-2021 school year, CMS will have a full-time student advocate. The role of the student advocate is to assist students and families in crisis situations, to promote social/emotional growth and development, and to provide individual and group counseling as necessary. Mrs. Brizzi and Mrs. Bouchelle will still be available to assist students in any way needed, but their main focus will be academic counseling and college/career readiness.
