Greetings Lemira Family:
We are officially in the Winter Holiday season, which brings a season of laughter, cheer, and goodwill. As we move forward, we will continue to motivate, inspire, and educate all students to be college and career ready leaders.

Thank you to the City of Sumter for your invitation to participate in the "Sumter County Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony". The Lemira Percussion Ensemble and Lemira Chorus thank you for this opportunity to showcase our talent and participate in a memorable event for the city.
Announcements
1. December 6th - 10th, we will open our "Winter Holiday" Shop. Students will have the opportunity to shop from a variety of gifting options from our holiday shop. Students are encouraged to bring cash in a sealed envelope to avoid it being lost.
2. Oh Jolly Saint Nick will be on campus Tuesday, December 14th. Students will have the opportunity to take pictures with Santa. Order forms were sent home. Please reference attached flyer for pricing details.
3. The MAP testing window for grades K-5 will begin Monday, Dec. 6th. All students are encouraged to do their best to reach their targeted goals in Reading and Math.
4. SIC Meeting will be held December 10th @ 9am. We will go over our mid year attendance data, along with a "Mid Year Chat with the Principal" to allow parents to give feedback on the school's progress and next steps.
5. Wednesday, December 8th, will be a half day for students. Students will dismiss at 11am.
6. If you are interested in your learner being screened for the Gifted and Talented program in the areas of the Arts, please complete, sign, and return the form that was sent home prior to the Thanksgiving break in your learner's blue commuication folder. (Form is attached below, as well). All forms must be returned by Friday, December 10, 2021.
7. The 2021-2022 District Calendar has been revised to include mental health days for students and faculty of the Sumter School District. Please reference the letter that is included in this newsletter for the revised days. The revised days will become half days. Afternoon social emotional learning (SEL) activities will be available to our students via Schoology and/or the school district’s website at sumterschools.net. Athletic events, practices, and extracurricular activities will operate as normal.
