Black-Tailed Prairie Dog

This Prairie Dog is a subspecies. It is larger than regular Prairie Dogs, and it is pinkish brown above, whitish below. Also, it has a black tipped tail which is unique among Prairie Dogs.

Coyote

This animal is grizzled gray or orangish gray above. This animal also has a black tipped tail. The legs are long, rusty or yellowish.

Aromatic Aster

This plant is usually less than 20 in. tall and is much branched from the base. The narrow leaves and stems have short hairs. This plant is a pink and lavender flower. Pink or lavender flowers are many petaled and aromatic with a yellow center.

Broom Snakeweed

This plant has many branches that form a round shrublet with hundreds of tiny flower heads in loose clusters. The flower heads are as narrow as 0.1-0.3 inches. With 3-7 ray flowers, each are about 0.1 inches, and have 2-6 tiny disk flowers.

Four-Wing Saltbush

This is a very variable shrub, it is compact and rounded. The height of this plant is 6 feet and can go up to 15 feet. The habitat of this shrub is dry, often salty soils, sandy or gravelly flats.

Lacy Tansyaster

This plant is a slender plant with small, weakly and bristly leaves. It has on yellow flower head at the tip of each of many of the upper branches. The flower heads are about 1 inch. The habitat of it is open places in arid grasslands and deserts.

Missouri Milkvetch

This plant has low perennials, loosely tufted or lying flat on the ground. It is short stemmed or sometimes even slightly stemmed. With some ax-shaped hairs, it is silvery-white to greenish-gray.
