Start of the School Day

Pilgrim’s first bell is now ringing at 8:25; we are letting students into the building 5 minutes earlier than in years past.

We are asking that all students in Grades 1-8 be at their desks and ready to learn at 8:30. The tardy bell for grades 1-8 is ringing at 8:35.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students should enter the building after the Grade 1-8 tardy bell and go downstairs to wait for their teachers. Pre-K and K teachers come down to collect children at 8:40. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students should be in their seats no later than 8:45.

Thanks for your understanding about all of this. Starting school on time maximizes instructional time for all of our students.

High School Information Night

CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT COMES AFTER PILGRIM?

THEN COME HEAR FROM OUR PANEL OF PILGRIM ALUMS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION NIGHT ON MONDAY, OCT. 26

We are planning an exciting event for ALL school parents and students to learn about what comes after Pilgrim, when our wonderful children enter high school!

High school is a topic on everyone’s mind, so we will get the scoop straight from the experts – our panel of Pilgrim alums now in high school.

Pilgrim students routinely go on to some of the best high schools in Chicago. How do they find a good fit? How does Pilgrim prepare them? What is their advice for younger students?

Please join us on Monday, Oct. 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Maring Hall for a panel discussion featuring recent Pilgrim grads who now attend a variety of area high schools, such as Northside, Payton, Whitney Young, Jones, Lane, Lincoln Park, Amundsen, Von Steuben and DePaul College Prep. We'll talk about the admissions process, and then hear straight from the teenagers themselves about what their days are like, how they transitioned to high school from Pilgrim, and more!

Grant Writing

We are looking for help on a development and grant writing committee! Do you have expertise in this field? or do you want to learn a new skill? Do you have a few hours a month on your own time you could work on searching out grant opportunities and help writing? Then please help us out! Contact Mr Comella ccomella@pilgrimchicago.org with your interest.

Come See Our Kids Shine

Parents are always invited to join with our students as they lead songs, prayers, dramas, presentations, and dramas in weekly chapel services Wednesdays at 10:10 a.m. Here is a link with the chapel schedule "Inspired by Grace" with the info on whether the chapel is being planned by led by the "upper" grades or the "lower" grades. If you can, please join us for an uplifting experience! The schedule is posted on SIS.

Lindsay is Moving!

Lindsay is Moving!

We need to announce that our fantastic Business Manager, Lindsay Beveridge, is moving to Geneva, IL in a new home she is purchasing with her new husband, Brian, and their beautiful children, Annabelle and Lincoln. We are sad to lose her from the neighborhood and from her administrative position in the office, but we are happy for them as they celebrate a new beginning for their family. We will be saying a prayer of appreciation for her on Sunday, October 18th.

Gift Cards

Gift cards will be sold Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday next week because of the Columbus Day holiday
