Valentine's Day Party

Classroom Basket Donations:
Donations for our Spa basket is due February 9th.
Carnival Donation Contest:
The donation contest kicks off next week. The class that brings in the most donations will win a popcorn party.
Here's the schedule:
Monday, Feb 5: Snack cakes and small treats for Cake Walk game
Wednesday, Feb 9: 2 liters for the 2 Liter Ring Toss game
Friday, Feb 9: Full size & fun size candy bars for the Candy Bar Spin game
Volunteers:
Volunteers are starting to trickle in, but there are a lot of openings still. PTO is looking for volunteers 8th grade & up. Thanks in advance for sharing the sign up!!

- Nonfiction Reading: Lucy Calkins Unit 2
- continue to tackle nonfiction text as a "teacher"
- practice discussing main idea through reading partnerships
- comprehension check-in skill: Main idea and supporting details
Writing:
- working on rough drafts for nonfiction books
- explore other writing genres - opinion writing
Math:
- Unit 8: Fractions
- naming parts of fraction
- ordering fractions using a number-line
- equivalent fractions

- Fliers will be sent home in the next week or two. There is also a larger variety online you can choose from.
