District Reminds Families of One-Time Registration Ahead of COVID Testing
Revised Isolation Guidelines Now Applies to Schools
As Redwood City School District (RCSD) continues to offer COVID-19 testing, the district reminds future participants that one time-registration is required for first-time test takers. Individuals who have yet to register can use the following links:

With the recent increase in testing demand, staff continues to work quickly to process all test takers. The district appreciates first-time users registering ahead of time as it will help reduce the wait time.
The district is offering testing twice a week at all 12 school sites:
Isolation Period for Students:
In late December, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) reduced the isolation period to five days. That guidance now applies to schools.
Under this updated guidance, everyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, previous infection, or lack of symptoms, should follow these recommendations:
When do Five (5) Days Apply?
Initially, after testing positive, stay home for at least 5 days.
Isolation can end after day 5 if symptoms are not present or are resolving AND a diagnostic specimen (antigen test preferred) collected on day 5 or later, tests negative. Although PCR tests are acceptable, they are much less practical and useful in attempting to return to school after 5 days.
When do Ten (10) Days Apply?
If unable to test or choosing not to test, and symptoms are not present or are resolving, isolation can end after day 10.
If fever is present, isolation should be continued until fever resolves.
If symptoms, other than fever, are not resolving, continue to isolate until symptoms are resolving or until after day 10.
Wear a well-fitting mask around others for a total of 10 days, especially in indoor settings.
The district will always contact individuals who tested positive and close contacts to provide guidance.
The Roadmap to Learning Safely During My New School Year updates is a service of the RCSD Department of Communications in collaboration with district administrators leading COVID response to keep the RCSD community informed in 2021-22. The RCSD community is encouraged to visit the Roadmap to Learning Safely During My New School Year page on the school district’s website as new guidance provided to RCSD will be uploaded as soon as it becomes available.
