Hello Jackson Families!
Jackson teachers and staff have certainly felt the love this week with cards, flowers and treats from students and our Jackson PTA! On Monday, PTA treated the staff to a delicious lunch from Little Rome and they brought each staff member their favorite Sonic drink on Tuesday. On Thursday, our wonderful Latino mothers provided an amazing buffet lunch to celebrate our teachers as well as Cinco de Mayo. Our very own Student Council provided teachers with an ice cream treat after school on Thursday, and we were able to start our morning today with delightful pastries. We are so thankful for our students, families, and our Jackson PTA!
Next week, Jackson 4th and 5th grade students will take the Reading and Math STAAR tests. The building will be closed to visitors on Tuesday, May 10, and Wednesday, May 11. You can help ensure a successful testing experience by making sure your child is rested, has eaten a nutritious breakfast and arrives at school on time. This is a chance for our students to show what they have learned, and I know they will shine!
Start your week out right with your favorite pizza or pasta dish from Little Rome! Monday, May 9, is Jackson Spirit Night at Little Rome. When you order, be sure and mention Jackson and a portion of the sales will be donated to Jackson PTA. What a great way to support a local business and our PTA!
Field Day is Friday, May 13, and our students will be able to unwind and have a little fun! Our students look forward to Field Day games, and PTA needs volunteers to help make this a successful event. For more information, please see the flyer below.
Of course, we can't forget about Mothers! Mothers are our children's first teachers and their love and lessons make a lifelong impact. Mother's Day is Sunday, May 8. Don't forget to let the mothers and mother-figures in your life know how much they are appreciated!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Kamili Carthledge, Assistant Principal

Jackson Field Day-Friday, May 13
Field Day is next Friday, May 13! This year will be different from past years if you have ever had the pleasure of attending before. There are 2 phases to Field Day this year--game time with the coaches and a free play time that includes an inflatable obstacle course. We were lucky enough to have the inflatable donated by the Gallegos family--thank you!
Due to the sheer size of our student body, we are in need of more volunteers than usual. Remember, in order to volunteer you need to be cleared through VOLY. Below is the link to check on your status or to create a profile.

Families Are Asked to Complete an Intent to Return Form
