SAFETY FIRST!
We wanted to take a moment to assure all of our Cherrelyn parents and guardians that your child's safety is of the utmost importance to all of us here at Cherrelyn. We take our preparation for any event very seriously by practicing drills regularly. Please feel secure when you drop your child off each day that we always consider your child's safety first.
WHAT IS RESTORATIVE PRACTICES?
Restorative Practices
“Building One Relationship at a Time”
Restorative Practices are built on 5 Core Values; Respect, Relationship, Responsibility, Repair and Reintegration.
RESPECT: Respect is the foundation of RP. It is developed through an appreciation and inclusion of all points of view and the practice of deep listening.
RELATIONSHIP: Strong, healthy relationships are vital to a healthy community. When relationships are broken by wrongdoing they can be mended by an individual making it right with another person in the community.
RESPONSIBILITY: Taking responsibility for one’s part of a problem is critical in the restorative process. This person can recognize that their actions affect others and the wider community.
REPAIR: Once one takes responsibility for his or her actions, one can focus on how to repair the harm that was done. By repairing harm, one begins to re-establish his or her self-respect in the eyes of the community.
REINTEGRATION: The restorative process is made complete by having the responsible party and all those who felt alienated or isolated be accepted back into the community.
