Mrs. Bell's Class News
Sept. 22, 2014
Good Monday! I hope everyone had a restful weekend. Tomorrow is the first day of Autumn! It seems as though we just started school, and yet here we are only 3 weeks away from the end of the 1st 9 weeks. Just a bit of what we are doing this week:
Reading--Our story this week is "Aero and Officer Mike". This is going along well with our research projects on dogs. The reading skill is still fact and opinion, and our grammar skill will focus on common and proper nouns.
Math--We have started our unit on Multiplication. The children are so excited! I will continue to use the Math textbook as well as the CCGPS Unit to teach the standards. As a result, there may be days when I don't assign homework. If you or your child is in doubt, please refer to the agenda.
Science--We are back to Science for the remainder of the 9 weeks. We will learn the standards that apply to Weathering, Soil, and Fossils. This Friday, I am planning on having the students take the assessment on weathering.
Last week, with the help of the ag students from CHS, we began planting our garden beds. We planted radishes, carrots, butternut squash, and lettuce. I took some pictures which I have posted below. We are very excited to see how our garden grows!!
Have a great week and let me know if you have any concerns or questions.
