Minute for Mission
Happy New Year, friends!
I don’t know about you, but I kind of geek out in the new year. I make a “vision board,” I journal, I lean into my “star word” from Village, I choose a couple new books for the first of the year and I spend some time thinking and praying about how I could live a little more intentionally in the new year. I try to get clear on my values and think about whether my calendar (my actual time spent) matches those. I told you…geek. 😊
What about you? Have you had any time to reflect on last year and think about the new year?
Have you ever taken time to explore what you might be “called” to do? Village is an amazing place to find your “sweet spot.” I’ve never seen a church so bustling every day of the week – with classes and volunteers in and out constantly. It’s amazing really. We have Stephen Ministers and multiple choirs, sewing specialists who create for others, yoga and a watercolor class filled with folks. So cool. These people feel “called” to these various outlets and spend time pursuing their passions.
What about you? Have you thought about what you might be “called” to do? We have an opportunity for you that we’d love for you to consider…
Our Sunday morning numbers are growing in the Lighthouse and we are super pumped about that. We love having “too many kids” (mostly because we wondered if we’d ever have families come back after 2019 and the Covid outbreak that sent us all running for home)! But good news…folks are coming back to church!
As you embark upon the new year and all that means to you, we’d like to throw out a little invitation. We would love for you to consider hanging out with us on a Sunday morning or two each month as a Lighthouse teacher. We walk alongside you and supply curriculum, games, crafts and training. You will always be on a teaching “team” with at least two people in each classroom. (So maybe invite a friend to teach with you? We can put you in a classroom together!)
Our crew of teachers are amazing. Both men and women. All ages and stages. Some have kids in the class they teach. Others prefer to let their kiddos connect with other adults so they teach in a different classroom. Some teach in their grandchild’s class. And some have no children of their own, or adult children that are no longer at home. Whatever floats your boat, we’ll make it happen.
If you’re interested in testing the waters one Sunday just to get a feel for what it's like, let me know by shooting me an email to brooke.brundige@villagepres.org. You can give it a test-run! (No strings attached!) Certainly appreciate you considering!
I hope it’s a wonderful start to the new year for you and yours!
