What Have I Learned From Reading the Novel?
From reading The Look and The Fault in Our Stars, I have learned a number of things. The first is adding unusual characters to the story. Creating people with different nationalities, interests, values, personalities and behaviours can add real interest to the story. Also when writing these things, I have learned how to really make the reader feel like they are part of the story and how to make the characters believable and realistic. But the main thing I have learned is about cancer. Lymphoma cancer, treatment, experiencing and living with cancer have all been uncharted territory for me up until now and it has been really interesting reading and discovering these things. Overall I have had a great time reading these books and the wider reading topic really helped me to discover things I never would have thought of or included in my own writing.
