Highland Happenings
For the Week of April 12, 2021
From the Administration
Dear Highland Families,
We have had such a great week! Welcoming students back into the building made our hearts full. We are monitoring and adjusting our procedures and protocols as necessary, but overall Thursday and Friday went smoothly. Thank you to the families who volunteered to assist with arrival and dismissal. You presence was greatly appreciated!
It is important that students/families get in the habit of completing the health check for students BEFORE getting to school.

Thank you for your attention to this important detail.
Next week (April 12-16) is Spring Break - all schools are closed and there will be no classes.
Remote learning continues April 19-23 for all students.
New hybrid schedule is implemented on April 26. Visit https://bsd405.org/back-to-buildings-plan/hybrid-school-schedule/ for more detailed information.
We wish you a safe and healthy spring break.

Happy National Assistant Principals Week!
This week celebrates National Assistant Principals Week! We are so grateful for our Assistant Principal, Ms. Arroyo. She has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of students returning to the building. We appreciate her ability to connect with students, staff and community in English and Spanish. Her enthusiastic attitude contributes to our positive campus climate, and we know how lucky we are to have her at Highland. Thank you, Ms. Arroyo. We love you! ¡Te queremos!

What is TalkingPoints?
The program "talks" to our student information system (Synergy) which allows us to send brief messages or announcements. Families can download the parent app on mobile phones if you don't want to receive messages via text/SMS. It is difficult to know if families are receiving the information we need you to have, and this is one more way to make sure everyone has access.
