What is the Definition of Eating Disorders?
Any of a range of psychological disorders by abnormal or disturbed eating habits. In similar words, eating disorders are a group of serious conditions in which you're so preoccupied with food and weight that you often focus on little else. The 3 main disorders are anorexia nervosa, binge eating, and bulimia nervosa.
Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia Nervosa is an eating disorder that makes people lose more weight than is considered healthy for their age and height.
Binge Eating
Binge Eating is an eating disorder in which a person eats a much larger amount of food in a shorter period of time than he/ she normally would.
Bulimia Nervosa
The firs part of Bulimia Nervosa has the same definition of Binge Eating. The second part is that in BN, the person either abuses laxatives or vomits to prevent weigh gain.
Why are Eating Disorders an Issue?
Eating Disorders can cause serious physical problems that can be life-threatening. They also cause bad psychological thoughts and issues.
How Can Eating Disorders be Solved or Cured?
They can be cured by going to the doctors office. They can prescribe psychotherapy or medication to help. In extreme examples, doctors can hospitalize the person to help them.
