Treats & Sweets Day

Tiger students helped out with our 4th annual Treats and Sweets day this week. 4/30/18 was "National Therapy Animal Day". Mrs. Holeman and her student leaders baked homemade dog treats that were passed out for donations. All of the money raised will go to "Pet Partners", the national organization that trains and registers therapy animals--which include therapy dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and even horses! Our Pet Partner at Tuscany Heights is Prince, who has been working at Tuscany Heights as a therapy dog for six years.

This year we raised $150.

Thank you to all our families who supported this great cause!

Checkout a few quick links to see our Kinder Students in action. The first link is brought to you by Godric Karnatz, Kinder Student, unable to perform Tuesday, but he gave us an intro and had front row seats to cheer on his friends. The 2nd link is a quick video of the night's performance. We are so proud of all of our Kindergarten Students and Teachers. Way to go Mrs. Rivera and Mrs. Drake!

Joshua, Earns 3 -Second Place Medals in the NSBE Jr Competition

Joshua earned three second-place medals at the NSBE Jr competition. The National Society of Black Engineers promotes science and technology while encouraging students to explore, research and create.

Also, Joshua has been accepted in the San Antonio Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen STEM-A program. He is one of 20 San Antonio area students that will learn aviation careers and the role of aviation in everyday life, all while gaining an appreciation for the story and legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Over the next nine months, Joshua will have a chance to meet with aviation experts, attend field trips to Randolph Brooks AFB and the San Antonio airport, experience a flight simulator and finally “co-pilot” a real airplane for graduation from the program.

Way to make us proud Joshua!

Warmer weather = Overflowing Lost and Found

Parents, as the weather warms up we find lots of sweaters and jackets around the school with no name on them – they end up in lost and found and it is OVERflowing! Help us out by checking closets and then sending your students on a mission to find what is lost and bring it home! ALL items will be donated to a charity at the end of the semester.
