The Owatonna Public School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Kory Kath has been selected as the new principal for the Owatonna Senior High School.

Jeff Elstad, Superintendent of Owatonna Public Schools, stated, “We are excited for Mr. Kath to join our administrative team as the new principal for the high school. Mr. Kath’s background, experience and connection to the Owatonna community will be a great addition.”

Mr. Kath comes to Owatonna Public Schools from the Mankato Public School District where he was employed for the past seven years serving most recently as the principal at Eagle Lake Elementary and prior to that, as assistant principal at Mankato East High School. Before working within the Mankato Public School District, Kath was a social studies teacher at Owatonna Senior High School and also was the State Representative for House District 26A, covering the communities of Owatonna and Waseca.

“I am excited to work alongside Owatonna students, staff and the community. Collaboration and the development of relationships will be my first order of business to assist in making a seamless transition for all,” stated Kath.

Kath will begin employment with Owatonna Public Schools on July 1, pending school board approval.
