LAFAVOR NAMED NEXT ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
The Clinton School District is excited to announce it has selected Kevin LaFavor as its next Activities Director.
Mr. LaFavor is not a stranger to the Clinton School District. Kevin was a stand-out athlete during his years as a student at Clinton High School. Kevin returned to the district in 2020, where he spent two years as the Head Football Coach.
Kevin’s coaching experience began in the Lincoln School District, where as the Head Football Coach he amassed a 27-3 record, including two State Runner-Up titles. LaFavor also has past coaching experiences in basketball and baseball.
Coach LaFavor has two degrees from Southwest Baptist University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. LaFavor was also a member of the Bearcat Football Team for one season.
"We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Kevin LaFavor back to the Clinton Cardinal family and to our team as the new Activities Director,” says Jennifer Corson, Clinton High School Principal. “Kevin brings with him a wealth of knowledge in athletics, activities, and the Clinton community. His leadership, passion, experience, and commitment to student success will be invaluable in furthering our programs and helping our students achieve their goals. Mr. LaFavor will work closely with coaches, staff, and students to build upon current successes and develop new opportunities for growth in the future."
Kevin LaFavor is excited to be returning to the Clinton School District, “After working in Clinton from 2020-2022, I received the opportunity to become the K-12 principal at Chilhowee R-IV School District. I was able to gain valuable administrative experience, while meeting many great people. I cannot thank the Chilhowee School District enough for the opportunity they provided me. In the end, I always wanted to come back to Clinton and be a part of the administrative team that has been built here. My family and I are very excited to return to Clinton and become Cardinals again. This is a dream come true for us!”
Mr. LaFavor will begin his work as Activities Director on July 1, 2023.

TITLE TEACHERS PROVIDE PARENTS UPDATE ON SERVICES
Henry Elementary School and Clinton Intermediate School students and staff are very lucky to have the support and expertise of these five teachers! These teachers serve as the Title Reading, Title Math, and Reading Interventionist/Dyslexia Specialist for their buildings.
At their recent End of Year Title Meeting and Ice Cream Social, these teachers provided parents with information on the schools' intervention programs, schoolwide assessments, data on numbers of students being served, and the progress made.
We appreciate these reading and math experts and the amazing work they do with our students everyday!

STUDENTS PREPARE FOR ADULTHOOD
Adulting 101, taught by Mrs. Harrison, is an elective class for 8th grade students at Clinton Middle School. This class is designed to help students become prepared to enter the “adulting world”.
Students have learned about budgeting, advantages/disadvantages of credit and debit cards, how to count change, etiquette tips, how to write a thank you card, organizational skills, and so much more. Students are now completing a unit on career paths, resumes, and job interviews. CMS is doing a great job of preparing students to be productive citizens in our community and world!

HOW BIG?
Students in Mrs. Maggi's Clinton Intermediate School 4th grade class have been learning all about metric conversions. Students were a little confused how big a kilometer really is, so what better way to find out than to measure one out!
Students learned that a kilometer is a little over 1/2 a mile.

OH, THE PLACES THEY WILL GO!
Clinton High School students, staff members, parents, KC Wolf, and community members gathered in the CHS gymnasium on Monday, May 1st to celebrate "Decision Day". Seniors who have made plans to enter the workforce, the military, attend college, or a trade/technical school after graduation, were recognized and celebrated.
During the assembly, those in attendance had the opportunity to hear from Mr. and Mrs. Ayers of the Ayers Foundation. The Ayers Foundation, in conjunction with David Steward and rootEd Alliance, has been pivotal in helping students plan and prepare for life after high school.
We are so proud of our seniors and are excited to watch them as they pursue their dreams.
A big thanks to Lindy Johnson for planning an amazing event, and to Eric Townsend for emceeing the celebration.
