Greetings Caruso Families,
Recently, several parents have asked about available resources and information to help support education and conversation at home regarding some different middle school age health related topics.
We have a health page on our DPS109 website that covers a variety of important topics. There are a number of valuable resources available on the internet, including a comprehensive collection of resources on the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry website (www.aacap.org). These topics include:
As a reminder, the following resources are available through the District if anyone has concerns about the safety of a student:
Our clinical team, our health teachers, and our entire staff is here to support students who need additional support related to health topics.
Text-a-Tip - Anyone can text “224HELP” or “224AYUDAME” to 274637 to receive an immediate and anonymous text response from a trained, professional counselor. This service is available 24/7.
Quick Tip Bullying/Incident Report - Any concerned individual can access this report through the Caruso homepage at the “Report Bullying” link. This information goes directly to our building administration.
In addition, we strongly encourage parents to attend the Botvin LifeSkills Parent Sessions at Shepard on Tuesday nights. Here’s the complete schedule of the sessions.
Sincerely,
Brian Bullis

We kindly request that you refrain from having food (Jimmy John's, Il Forno, Potbelly, etc.) delivered during the school day. The increased volume of deliveries can become a disruption to the normal operation of the school office.
