Cottonwood Creek Cougar Chronicle
Message from the Principal, Mrs. Katie Johnson
Dear Cottonwood Creek Families,
As the summer is starting to come to an end, I'd like to welcome you to the 2020-21 School Year. While we are still charting these unprecedented times, I am honored to be returning to Cottonwood Creek for my 3rd year! The Cougar Family has never meant more than it does now. While we are unsure exactly how the 2020-21 school year will look, I can assure you that it is our continued goal to connect and engage our students in an exceptional learning experience.
The decision to start remotely or in-person will be made by looking at data associated with community spread, trends in the number of new cases, and the impact on hospitals in the metro Denver area in August. In the meantime, our leadership continues to monitor and adjust our plans, and update the CCSD website with information in a timely manner. I realize a lot of information has been shared, and it can be difficult to find information. Below you will find various links to information about the 2020-21 School Year.
Cottonwood Creek will adhere to all CCSD guidelines and requirements to ensure the safety of our staff, students and community. Thank you for your continued partnership and ongoing support.
Our updated learning plan includes five days a week of in-person learning for students in PreK-12.
If In-Person Learning must switch to full remote learning at any point during the year, the instruction will be a mixture of synchronous (students learning online together at the same time) and asynchronous.
Online learning is an option for all CCSD students. A new Online Elementary program is available for grades K-5.
Catastrophic cuts in state education funding due to coronavirus are threatening the Cherry Creek School District’s ability to deliver on our promise of excellence for every child.
