2021-2022 School Year
At the April 22 FCS Board Meeting, it was announced that all students would be returning to face-to-face instruction in August. While we are extremely excited about this news, there are some virtual options available for students in grades 3- 12. Please click here for additional details regarding virtual learning opportunities for the 2021-2022 school year.
Students in grades 2-5 who are returning to Abbotts Hill or moving up to Taylor Road Middle School will be able to keep their assigned technology device this summer. Please store your device and charger in a safe place. Click here for more information on care and storage. If you are withdrawing from Abbotts Hill, or transferring to another Fulton County School, please contact Ms. Alice Lan at email@example.com. She will help you with the withdraw/transfer process and make arrangements to collect your child’s device and charger prior to May 27.
Enrollment Intent for the 2021-2022 School Year
As we begin to plan for the 2021-2022 school year, having an accurate student count is very important. We are asking parents to help us now, in order to ensure we know who will be in our building next year. If your child will NOT be returning to Abbotts Hill next school year, please contact Ms. Alice Lan at firstname.lastname@example.org for information regarding the withdrawal process. If you have a child that will be NEW to Abbotts Hill next year, please visit our website by clicking here to register your child. Spring registration began on March 31. We are asking parents to register sooner rather than later! Thank you for your help as we prepare
for the 2021-2022 school year.
2021-2022 School Supply Kits
School supply kits for 2021-2022 are now available to order online. The Abbotts Hill PTA has worked with SchoolKidz to custom tailor school supply boxes for each grade level and special area at Abbotts Hill. When the kits arrive at Abbotts Hill, they will be delivered to your students' classroom before classes begin in the fall. Visit the school supply kit information by clicking here . All orders must be placed by May 28, so the kits can be delivered to the school.
Summer Meal Pick-up
FCS will continue to provide free lunches throughout the summer. Summer meal kits will be provided for all children 18 and under at 20 different locations throughout Fulton County on Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Abbotts Hill’s suggested pick-up location is Ocee Elementary School. For more information, please click here.
At the beginning of the year, homeroom teachers will send an email to the parents of their students. In this email, they will introduce themselves and provide parents with information about Sneak-a-Peek, which is planned for August 5. During Sneak-a-Peek, teachers will meet and greet the students and their families. Parents will be provided information on how to access and review helpful resources prior to Sneak-a-Peek and the first week of school.
(On Curriculum Night, teachers will share an overview of what to expect each week, where to locate assignments, and how to engage in lessons and classroom activities.)
On Friday, August 6 from 8:00 - 8:30 am our Kindergarteners and any other new students to our school will have a meet and greet with Administrators, PTA, Teachers, and other staff in a smaller setting to help acclimate our new Abbotts Hill Families.
The first day of school is August 9. Our teachers have always worked in a collaborative environment. This year, more than ever, our grade level teams will be working together to maximize learning opportunities for all students. We look forward to seeing you at Sneak-a-Peek on August 5!
Year End Medication Reminder from the Clinic
All medications stored in the clinic must be picked up no later than Wednesday, May 26th. No medications will be stored in the clinic over the summer. Any medications (prescription & over the counter) left at the end of the day on the 26th will be destroyed.
If your student currently has prescription medication in the Abbotts Hill clinic, paperwork should be coming home with your student this week. This will give you the opportunity to complete the new paperwork for the 2021-2022 school year over the summer with your student’s doctor. New student health plans and authorization to give medication at school forms are to be completed for each new school year. These forms can also be found on the Fulton County website under the Student Health Services tab under Parent Resources at: https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/7525
Thank you & have a great summer,
Sumudi Perera (Pereras@fultonschools.org)
