Our Congressman, Chairman Pete Sessions Visits Gooch

On Wednesday, the 5th of April, our congressional representative, Chairman Pete Sessions visited to Gooch to see some of the amazing things we are doing, especially in Special Education. The visit was a part of our introduction of Milo at Gooch, one of our many efforts to provide the best education possible for all of our scholars, no matter their unique needs.

Welcome Milo

Thanks to the amazing support of our community, 2 Ipads and two Otterbox covers were donated to Gooch to work with Milo. Milo is now being used with many of our scholars on the spectrum, and proving to be an amazing help. We are seeing truly remarkable early results. A huge thank you to RoboKind for donating Milo, and bringing the Congressman to Gooch to see us in action.

Butterfly Garden Work Day

On April 7 an amazing team came together to complete the first phase of the Gooch Monarch Garden supported by the Monarch Heroes program of the National Wildlife Federation and our fantastic Glean Meadows neighbors and neighborhood association. We worked for 5 hours, had 44 volunteers participating at various parts of the day, and we moved 10 tons of gravel, 3 3/4 tons of sand, and 3 tons of rock. In phase 2, coming soon we will be planting the beds, installing the benches and giving the gravel a final level. We hope you will be able to come and help!
