Salmon's Week 9 Update
October 30-November 3rd
Overview
Reading: Will be reading Encyclopedia Brown a fiction text that is a mystery. We will be reviewing the standard RL.3 - summarizing, character, setting plot, and sequence of events. This is a big standard for 4th graders and we will be working on it all year. The best question is to ask students "SWBST" (somebody, wanted, but, so, than).
Writing: We are writing a spooky "roll-a-story" in class. The students roll the different parts of a story and put it all together to develop a complete plot. This is a fun way to come up with ideas for stories quickly. This story will support our Imaginative Narrative.
Science: We are finishing up our Human Body unit in the next few weeks with some fun and engaging science lessons. The students are working to understand how the body systems work together and how we send messages from one to another.
Social Studies: We are working the Southeast region with the learning 12 states in the this region. This is one of the more difficult states to remember.
