The Author & Me: Thinking About the Author's Purpose, Message, & Craft

November 16, 2019

9am to 11am CST

K-8

Author's purpose is a great entry point for getting students to think deeply about texts! In this seminar, we will will explore ways good readers determine author's purpose, message, and craft in print and multimodal texts. We will look at genre elements and how good readers use this knowledge to question the author. You will leave with many ideas for empowering your students to look at texts through different lenses and apply those techniques to their own writing. Join us to learn more!
