100 Awesome Days of School

Believe it or not, Thursday marked the 100th day of school this year. The time has cruised past when you look at it from afar, but we have all had days when it slowed down to a crawl. A strong congratulations and thank yous need to go out to the staff, students, and families as we continue to navigate the ever-changing course that is our current school year. Take a moment to be thankful for all we have been able to do so far, and let's keep that same momentum going for the remainder of the year!

The Lost And Found

We are approaching February Vacation, and that means a time that we clean out the lost and found. We continue to encourage students to look for items that they have lost, but we are also suggesting a few tips to keep your gear in your child's hands.

  • Label your gloves, hat, coat, boots, etc... with at least a last name.
  • Send in a change of clothes to stay at school. Students still get wet even with snow pants and coats.

If you have any gently used boots, snow pants, or coats, we would welcome donations.

Please Send Outside Attire To School With Your Students

We are in full swing for recess in the snow, but again we need your help. Students are only allowed in the snow with boots, snow pants, gloves, jackets, and more. We have a few pairs to loan out for emergencies, but we ask that you please send the items in with your own student on a daily basis. Please make sure you check student clothing at the end of the day as well. Gloves and hats are coming into school wet, and that is simply not very comfortable. Thank you again as we try to enjoy the wonders of winter.

RECENT STUDENT WORK

Sample Student Council Videos

These videos have been shown during morning announcements this month. Take a look at what amazing things our kids have been able to do.

Wixie Creations From The First Grade In Tech

Students create stories using a program name Wixie. The results are awesome!

From The Nurse's Office

Our supply of extra clothing is rapidly diminishing! If you could please send your student in with extra clothes should they get wet, that would be greatly appreciated. If you are looking to donate any clothing items to our supply, we are in need of:

  • Pants/bottoms, especially in sizes 4-8. Leggings & sweatpants are a great option for children to change into if they have an accident!

  • New Boys underwear sizes 6-8

  • New Girls underwear sizes 6-8

  • New Socks of all sizes are also needed, as we have had lots of wet feet!

Please continue to send in all physical exam forms, as well as COVID and Flu shot documentation so I can update your child’s medical records here at school. Also, please note that Pool Testing samples are collected first thing Tuesday mornings. If you bring in a sample later than 10 am, it may not be sent out to be tested.

Finally, please continue to routinely check the AWRSD website for the most current information related to COVID 19 protocols COVID 19 Health Services Page If you have any questions about quarantine and isolation, please reach out to me for guidance.
