Week of March 26
News & Updates
Dear CELC families,
I hope you all had a great weekend! Congratulations to the SDSU Men's Basketball Team for making it to the Final Four. Please join by showing our SDSU spirit on Monday. Wear SDSU gear or red and black.
Online registration for the 2023-24 school year is OPEN. Returning students, please update ParentVue for the 2023-24 school year at https://sdhome.sdcoe.net/alpine/PXP2_Login.aspx. For students that are new to the district, please use https://sdhome.sdcoe.net/alpine/Create_Account_Privacy_Parent_OEN.aspx to complete the online registration. New TK and K parents must also fill out a paper packet that can be picked up at the CELC office.
We are looking forward to a fun week. Our book fair will be open all week. Stop by before school, after school, or during Open House. Don't forget that CELC's Open House is this Thursday, March 30th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We hope to see you all there to visit the classrooms and see what our Cubs have been up to.
Here is a list of the latest updates and news to keep you informed:
- Creekside TK classes for the 2023-24 school year are filling up fast. If you or someone you know is planning to register for TK, please do it as soon as possible. This will help us plan for the upcoming school year.
- The CELC PTA is planning for our annual Spring Fling. They will need candy for booth prizes. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be given to your child's teacher or dropped off at the CELC office.
- Please check the lost and found for missing items. We have a lot of jackets and water bottles. All items that have not been reunited by March 31st will be donated to Goodwill.
- Check the weekly forecast below to help plan your student's wardrobe for the week. It looks like we will be able to enjoy some sun on Monday and Tuesday but will experience some rain later in the week. Please make sure your student brings a jacket to school.
- Did you know that AUSD students have tutoring and enrichment opportunities? See the flyer below for more information.
- Please send your student to school each day with a backpack, refillable water bottle, a healthy snack, and a lunch (unless they are getting a cafeteria lunch).
Please report any absences to your child's teacher and the office. Please let the office know the reason your child is out and what symptoms they have.
Before and after school care is available. Please contact our ESS Coordinator, Aimee Hatfield if you have any questions at ahatfield@alpineschools.net

MVLA News and Updates
MVLA families,
MVLA is starting to plan for the 2023-24 school year. Please help us by updating your ParenVue accounts. Online registration for the 2023-24 school year is OPEN. Update ParentVue for the 2023-24 school year at https://sdhome.sdcoe.net/alpine/PXP2_Login.aspx. This is very important information that we need for planning. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 619-659-8250.
Please remember that work completion is directly correlated to attendance. Incomplete or missing plan work will result in the team re-evaluating the student's program placement.
Here are a few important updates and reminders:
- Plan 14 is due 4/17/23. Please make sure to turn the plans in completed and on time.
- Students may enter through either the CELC or SHES campus in the morning. Pick up/dismissal is at SHES.
- Last in-person school day is May 25, 2023.
- School begins at 9:00 a.m. Dismissal is at 1:30 p.m. Please do not park in the bus or fire lane while picking up or dropping off your students.
- Due to the locked gates installed between the campuses, please use the SHES entrance/exit on Mondays if your student comes to MVLA for additional support.
- All AUSD 3rd through 8th grade students and teachers are reviewing test taking skills and sample test questions to help prepare for the CAASPP test in May. See flyer below if you would like to learn more about the CAASPP or have your student practice at home.
- Please make sure that you send your students to school with their Chromebooks fully charged daily. If your student is having technical difficulties with their Chromebooks, you can get support from our District Tech Department. Email helpdesk@alpineschools.net.

AUSD 2022-23 LCAP GOALS
The Governor's budget for education mandated that every school district in California needs to update its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). The LCAP is intended to be a three-year plan to improve student achievement by setting annual goals for the district in eight priority areas. Each of the priorities has established data requirements to track district progress improving student achievement. The LCAP requires Districts to gather input from students, teachers, parents, and community members to determine the goals, actions, and budget priorities for the District. Our District staff worked together with all of our stakeholder groups to gather input and craft the draft of our Local Control Accountability Plan. Here are AUSD's 2022-23 LCAP Goals:
Goal #1: Effective Instruction and Curriculum - Provide equitable access to high-quality classroom curriculum and instruction in an inclusive environment that promotes student success.
Goal #2: Safe and Respectful Environments - Ensure all school sites are safe and have healthy and welcoming climates for staff, students, and their families so that all students feel connected and are motivated to attend and ready to learn.
Goal #3: Equitable and Culturally Responsible Systems - Ensure systems and processes eliminate barriers to student success and are equitable and culturally responsive to the needs of our students and their families.
