Donors Choose Grants

Shout out to Mrs. Wynkoop's class for completing the "Be Internet Awesome" activities which earned $100 from Donors Choose! This money coupled with other grant money was used to purchase headphones for the class and USB microscopes for 5th grade classrooms.

Shout out to Mrs. Copeland's class for conducting a lab on plant and animal cells!

Camden Middle School

Robotics Challenge

Shout out to the CMS students who participated in the robotics challenge. The team that controlled their robot to move the highest number of cubes to the end of the challenge field, after 2 minutes, was declared the winner. The winning teams received a robotics t-shirt from Dr. Abe Meilich, our robotics volunteer.

Math and Science Fair

The Camden Middle School Science and Math Fair was held on Wednesday, January 16th. Eighth grade student Skylar Parks won first place in Biological Sciences for her investigation of the Golden Ratio. Eighth grade student Peyton Carver won first place in physics for her investigation of how angles influence the distance a softball will travel. The first place winners will advance to the Regional Science Fair held at East Carolina University on February 16th.

All-District Band

Shout out to Mr. Whitehurst and the students who auditioned for all-district band. The band program had a record number of students audition for all district band. Mialee Smith (10th grade flute), Abi Broyles (9th-Bassoon), Ethan Meyers (9th Bass Clarinet) Brandon Cooper (11th Tuba) were selected for the All District Band.
