Student Computer Update
This academic year, we initially provided each classroom with sets of computers to address concerns about students carrying laptops between classes, even when not in use. However, after receiving valuable input from staff and students, we have decided to revert to a new system.
Students will check out computers at the beginning of the day and return them to their focus class at the day's end. This approach ensures that students consistently use the same computer, promoting faster performance and maintaining cleanliness as they are responsible for their own devices.
Families can still purchase Chromebook insurance if you didn't do that at the beginning of the school year. Families can set up an account to pay online, which works great for many of our school fees. Click on the button below tor register and pay line. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We're here to help you!
6th-Grade Camp 2024
Planning for the 66th year of our CCMS Outdoor School program is underway. Every year, parents inquire about their child's participation procedures in the May camp. Rest assured, you and your child will be informed as soon as dates and schedules are finalized. Stay tuned for more details!
Students will receive information on which week they will attend by April 1st. Please note that they cannot choose their preferred weeks, as the allocation of weeks is determined by the balancing of counselors and students, ensuring a smooth scheduling process for each focus class.
Exclusion Day Update!
Letters have been sent to parents of students requiring vaccinations or exemptions. As a friendly reminder, exclusion day is approaching on February 15th, and students must have the necessary vaccinations or exemptions to attend school on that day. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance. Your inquiries are always welcome.
As our welcome back newsletter mentioned, we are instituting a new schoolwide reading and math assessment tool. The primary use of this program will be during Focus Class. However, a select group of students will receive supplementary instruction by temporarily withdrawing from certain elective classes twice a week. The progress and gains of our students have been great.
New CCMS PBIS Acronym
In our ongoing commitment to improve our Behavior Intervention and Support program, we have introduced a new acronym that aligns with our CCMS mission and goals. Additionally, we will incorporate lessons on these principles into our Focus Classes and acknowledge students who exemplify these traits.
