Laura Meyer - February 12, 2016 - $85,161

Personal Mission Statement

My personal mission for 2015-2016 is to utilize and develop my knowledge, skill sets, and abilities as a servant leader throughout all facets of my life (faith, family, friends, community, and work) through reflection, interaction with others, and continuous learning.

Professional Goals

Goal: I will work collaboratively with district and school colleagues, parents, students, and community stakeholders in order to prepare, create and establish a state-of-the-art learning environment which welcomes and cultivates a sense of community pride and educational excellence as well as promotes a mantra that all learners will achieve and be successful.

Goal: I will find effective ways in which to "sharpen my saw" by eating right, self-reflecting, and exercising.

Weekly Summary Report

Highlights from this week:

*FF&E Meeting: Kim and I met with Jenny and Lori on Monday at their showroom/office. We reviewed classroom and office specifications, finalized furniture styles, colors, and even determined pulls on drawers, selected the curtain color for the stage in the cafeteria, and chose some fabric swatches for chairs and the collaborative areas soft seating. Jenny continues to say that we are right on track with our progress! We continue to be thankful to you, Dr. Mercer, for allowing her to lead us through this process!

*Shoally Creek Staff Members: My goal while at each of the schools this week was to personally speak with each of my new staff members! With the exception of just a few, I came very close to meeting that goal. Those I didn't get to speak with, I followed-up with an email letting them know that I would be sure to see them next week for sure! At the current time, I am not sure if any CFG staff members will come to SCE...hoping that will be determined early next week, so that I can make arrangements to visit.

****I can't say enough about Michelle, Tammy, Cathy, and Tina...and their positive efforts to support their staff members during this time of transition and change. I have awesome colleagues!!

*Site Visit: One of the things I am MOST EXCITED about for all of the SCE staff is to get them out to the construction site to see the school!!! Earlier this morning, during our unexpected snow event, Laura and I were able to meet at the SCE site to visit. We also are working on our first SCES staff event in collaboration with Belue Farms and Thompson/Turner. (Friday, February 19, 2016 3:00 - 4:00 PM)

Next Week:

*Tuesday - MGSD Data Conference Visit (with 3 SCE teachers).

*School Visits: BSE (Monday); HES (Tuesday AM & Wednesday); BSI (Thursday AM)

*Begin preparing attendance zone parent/student letters for mailing.
