Learn about our health and safety precautions
Every school in the district is taking health and safety precautions to provide a safe and healthy
learning environment. Our Return to Learn Health and Safety Plan was developed by following
guidance in the state’s Ready Schools, Safe Learners Resiliency Framework.
Kelly Creek Safety Measures
Some important things to highlight:
- Masks must be worn by all staff and students throughout the entire day, the only exceptions are during times when students are eating or drinking.
- Students and staff will try and stay 3 feet apart to social distance whenever feasible.
- Visitors and volunteers will be limited until further notice.
Thank you all for your understanding as we are doing what is necessary to keep children and faculty healthy.

Kindergarten Gradual Entry
Gradual Entry/Assessment Schedule-Your child will attend one of the three Gradual Entry/Assessment days during the week of September 7th-9th. Transportation will need to be provided by parents on your scheduled date. We unfortunately cannot have parents in the building. Mrs. White, Mrs Carvajal and Ms. Temple will be waiting at the front entrance for your child. The kindergarten teachers will escort your child to our kindergarten classrooms. Please be back at the front of the school 5 minutes before your child’s session ends. We will escort you to the back of our school where you will be able to meet our kindergarten teachers and from the outside view the kindergarten classrooms.
On Friday, we will build our balanced classrooms. Teachers will call you to notify you who your student's teacher will be and to ask some questions about your child, share information, and answer any questions that you may have.
Student's gradual entry day is assigned based on the first letter of their last name.
Students whose last name begins with:

We are looking forward to seeing you at drop off.
Masks-The Oregon Health Authority/Oregon Department of Education has made It is mandatory for students and staff to wear face coverings when inside a school building. The goal of requiring face coverings is to ensure students are able to safely return to full-time, in-person learning this fall, five days per week and with minimal disruptions.
Buses-If your child will be riding the bus-
Please note that buses will not be available the week of gradual entry. Your child will begin riding the bus Monday, September 13th. Please call First Student for your child’s bus schedule or if you have any questions, at 503-665-8193.

Student Daily Attendance
Attendance Matters at Kelly Creek!
Help your child be successful in their education. Start them off early for a successful school year by attending school daily and on time.
We understand that life happens and absences and tardies occur.
Absences & Tardies
Please call in your student's absence before 8:40 a.m. (9:40 a.m. on Wednesdays). Students not present by 8:40 a.m. will be marked absent and an automated phone call will go out to the family. If you do receive a call, please notify the school immediately of the reason for your student's absence.
Students that arrive after 8:40 a.m. (9:40 a.m. on Wednesdays) are considered tardy and will receive a late slip. Their attendance will be updated in system.
Transportation Changes and Early Release
We encourage all students to be here full day. However, please call the office no later than 2:30p.m. with any transportation changes for your student. The end of the day is extremely busy, so calling earlier in the day ensures the safest and easiest transportation change for your child.
If you need to pick your student up early, please do so before 2:45 p.m. After this time, you will be asked to wait until dismissal at 3:05 p.m. Call the office ahead of time and notify us of the early release.
Health and Medications
Illness- Please do not send your child to school if they are sick. Call our office to report their illness and to excuse their absence from school.
Medications: Please do not send medications with your child to school. A parent or legal guardian must sign in all medications at the school office, including over-the-counter medications. All medications must be in original packaging with (children, not adult) dosing instructions.
