2020 VIRTUAL DAVID’S DREAM RUN -- REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR A GUARANTEED T-SHIRT IS TODAY, OCTOBER 15TH
We all face challenges in life every day of every year, and 2020 has been no exception. As we navigate these uncertain times, one thing we can all do is come together to complete our annual David’s Dream Run. This event directly benefits children with immune disorders at the David Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the event. It is held to honor David Vetter’s dream to “run barefoot in the grass.”
Our 2020 David’s Dream Run will be virtual this year and consist of a 1 mile or 5K run/walk to be completed between kickoff on Wednesday, November 11th through Tuesday, November 17th. This virtual event may be completed on your own time, in your own neighborhood, at a local park, or even the treadmill.
We encourage you to take a picture of your run/walk and send it to the following email address here at David: firstname.lastname@example.org. *We will try to post and share some of these photos on our David Elementary, Conroe ISD Facebook page. This page is where we will come together as a community with positive messages and pictures supporting the event, so please like and follow this Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/DavidCISD/. More details to come.
Race Shirt: $20 per adult participant and $15 per child participant.
Register online on the David Membership Toolkit Web Store. Please order your shirt by Thursday, October 15th, for a guaranteed race shirt by kickoff. We will continue to sell shirts after this date, but they cannot be guaranteed by race week. Shirts will be delivered to your child at the beginning of November for anyone who ordered by October 15th. For our remote learners, we will arrange a pick-up time for you. Please note that due to current health and safety procedures, we will not be able to exchange sizes. Please size up if you are unsure. We apologize for this inconvenience. https://davidpto.membershiptoolkit.com/store_david. If you need help setting up a Membership Toolkit account, please see the instructions below under PTO.
DAVID’S DREAM RUN SPONSORSHIP
Would you like to have your business or family name on the back of the 2020 Virtual David‘s Dream Run t-shirt? Several sponsorship levels are available and must be submitted by October 15th. Depending on the level you choose, you will receive a designated number of race registrations, t-shirts, and business advertisement. For more information please see email Tamara Herod at email@example.com.
*Please note that there is no guarantee that all pictures submitted will be published.
RED RIBBON WEEK
During the week of October 26th - 30th, we will join with schools across the nation to celebrate “Red Ribbon Week”. There will be a theme each day and we encourage students and staff to dress for the theme to help teach the message of making good choices to be drug free. Please see the flyer below for more information.
Please note that on Friday, October 25th, students will dress as a character that they admire from a children’s book. Start now by encouraging your child to choose a book, read it, and start working on an appropriate costume. Students will wear their costume to school (or at home) and bring the book to share in class. Please remember no scary costumes, play weapons, or scary masks.
**PARENTS AT HOME: Please remember to take pictures! We will take pictures here at school and Mrs. Brown will be creating a fun video for the week.
