Word Work
This week we are going to begin our study of prefixes and suffixes. We will be looking at their meanings and how they change the root words when they are added. We'll start with the prefixes re- and un-.
The prefix un- can be added to many different types of words- verbs, adjectives, adverbs, nouns and typically means "to reverse, to remove, or not" depending on the type of root word.
The prefix re- means "back" or "again". It is typically added to a verb.
