*DEDICATION*GROWTH*COMMUNITY*
Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
Thank you to all of you that participated in the Cash for Classrooms fundraising event by the Chandler Education Fund. We raised $8,066. We awarded teachers that had their projects approved today and the awards total was $4,058.41.Thank you for your generosity and continued support of ACP.
We are almost at the mid quarter mark. Please make sure that you are keeping up with your work, studying for tests, building good study skills and making appointments with teachers as needed. One of the key components is attendance so please make sure you are present in classes and on time. Please be aware that 90% seat time is required to receive credit for any course each semester.
All students will be taking the sample final exam on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Please remember to bring your device fully charged & with standard port headphones to school that day.
Parents/Guardian - Students will be completing a needs assessment survey on November 16th & 17th during their social studies class as part of the School Safety Grant requirement. You should already received a permission slip and copy of the survey for your review. Permission slips are due to their Social Studies teacher no latter than November 15, 2022.
Our future city competition teams are in need of recyclable plastic bottles, cardboard, pipes, tubes, soap/shampoo bottles, plastic bags, kitchen towels, toilet paper rolls, any type of containers and foil. If you would like to donate, please drop off in the front office.
Thank you,

Opportunities
2022-2023 American Essay Contest (attached below is the form to complete if taking part):
The ambition and goal of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Americanism Program is to raise the spirit of American patriotism and to increase an awareness — a genuine feeling of pride and respect toward patriotism. Therefore, Chandler Elks Lodge #2429 would like to provide a special opportunity for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade teachers and students to participate in our Annual Americanism Essay Contest. This year’s theme is “What is Your American Dream?”
New this year, there are four divisions (not two) for judging essays:

Local lodge essay winners and sponsoring teachers will receive an invitation to an Awards Dinner in their honor at the Chandler Elks Lodge in late May 2023. Each winner will also receive an award certificate and a gift certificate.
Local winning essays will be also forwarded on to District, State and National competitions respectively. Awards and/or plaques will be awarded at each level. National Winners will be announced at the Grand Lodge Session in July 2023. National Winners will receive monetary awards of 1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place: $500 and 3rd Place: $250.

PLEASE MAKE A TAX CREDIT DONATION TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL
Arizona tax law allows individual taxpayers to claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in AZ for support of eligible activities and programs.
At the junior high level, the school office is unable to reallocate / redirect funds without parent and district approval. Be sure to select the specific fee for the activity where you want your payment applied. Sports fees are assigned quarterly and club fees are assigned once established.
When paying fees online (band/ orchestra, club or athletics fees, etc.), please consider making an additional contribution to our general fund in December to reach the maximum credit allowable.
http://az01001175.schoolwires.net/page/1131
Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School or if you have a family member that resides in AZ, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
