A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA

Week of April 1, 2019

A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL GREY:

The Grant PTA Auction is coming up this weekend and I want to thank each and every one of you for helping to make Grant the most wonderful school. In my first year as Principal, I have been honored to join such an amazing community. Our teachers are excelling at giving students high-level reading and math skills. Our Social Studies lessons and a variety of opportunities for experiential learning through field trips are outstanding. As I look to see how we can do better and how we can give our students the best tools possible for their future, I have focused on science, integrated technology, and collaborative learning. Now that we have a dedicated STEAM and Maker's Lab in the making, we need a Science Coordinator to have it operate at its full potential. This person will teach throughout during class time and will provide a safe place to create and explore science at lunch recess. Kids will be able to use robotics tools and science equipment as well our new Maker's Space cart for art and engineering. But, we cannot make this happen without you.

That is why this year's Fund-a-Need is so critical. Bringing more engineering, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking to our students is something we can all support. I, along with the Grant PTA, am asking you to help us fund the role of a Science Coordinator for Grant Elementary School. The more money we raise, the longer we can keep this new program rolling!

There will be a great opportunity to donate to this fund-a-need at the auction or if you can't make it, please consider donating HERE.

Thank you for your generosity and support,

Ms. Grey
