First Week Fun
We have had a great first week. We appreciate you entrusting your children to us. We have gotten to know and love them. We have been learning Campus-Wide Expectations that are centered around respect, responsibility, and safety. We are learning classroom procedures and have started setting goals for the year. It's going to be a great one!

Counselor's Corner
Welcome to Lago Vista Intermediate School! I am so happy to be the counselor for your 4th and 5th graders. I have moved from the high school level but most of my counseling experience is with elementary schools, so I feel right at home!
I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I will be in classrooms next week to introduce myself and to welcome students to our campus. Please let me know how I can help make LVIS a safe and nurturing environment for your child. I believe we are all here to empower through education ~~ and it is a journey we are excited to share with you!
I am here each day (except Fridays) from 7:15am – 12:30pm. I can be reached at (512) 267-8300, Ext. 3504. My email address is: cindy_slaughter@lagovista.txed.net

A Note From Nurse Carmichael
Special note to all parents looking for an alternative for their child's EpiPen.
While I don't typically endorse one product over another, I feel like this is a matter of real safety. Parenting kiddos with severe allergies are struggling to afford what their child needs to be safe. The recent price hike for EpiPens is becoming a serious burden for families. An alternative that can cost 75% less can make a big difference.
There is another maker of epinephrine autoinjectors that are much more reasonable, Adrenaclick. To learn more, go to http://adrenaclick.com/
to learn more. Please note, pharmacies are not allowed to make a substitution from Epipen to Adrenaclick so your doctor will have to write the Rx specifically for Adrenaclick.
I hope this gives parents an easier option for their child and their budget.
