Acne

what is acne?
Acne is a skin condition that causes pimples or "zits." This includes whiteheads, blackheads, and red, inflamed patches of skin, such as cysts.
Severe acne
This is a more severe case of acne. It may cause scarring on the skin and is very difficult to get rid of.
Proactive
Proactive is a common advertised solution known to help treat acne.
Baby acne
Acne is not only on teens-adults but can be found on babies too.
Media Influences
Most people have seen at least once in their life a commercial for an acne treatment solution. Proactive is one of the most commonly advertised. Also another way they advertise treatments is through magazines. I remember reading in a Seventeen magazine that proactive was the leading brand of acne solution.
Interpersonal Communication
If you were suffering from acne there is several people you could talk to; friends, family, or a doctor/dermatologist. You could start off by talking to your parents about it, stating that you have acne and would like to do something about it and ask what they think you should do. If that doesn't get you to where you want you can always talk to a doctor or a dermatologist. Dermatologists are specialized in skin and would know how to treat acne. They would be able to help you get on the right kind of medicine or treatment for your acne.
immediate risk factors
Risk factors would be not knowing how to treat it, and not being able to find the right solution to fix it or make it go away. Another risk factor is that it could affect your stress level. I know from having friends who have acne when they break out really bad they tend to get worked up about it and be stressed. Also it can affect your mood, how happy you are. Can cause you to be more insecure about your skin and how you look and how others view you, lowering your self esteem.
long term risk factors
Acne can cause scarring and leave blotchy skin, or redish marks on your skin where the acne was. You can not get rid of the scarring forever but many people try and cover it up with makeup. In some more serious cases it can lead to depression, and very low self confidence and esteem. It is even found that more people who have acne are unemployed than people who do not have acne are.
