President, Kris Schuler, Nu:
Greetings Sisters!
Ahhh! Summer! Ok. I know it doesn't feel like it yet, but it will soon! Our family is going to forge ahead with our Memorial Day plans as though it is going to be 85 and sunny! Wish us luck!!
In case you were wondering, we had a fun and festive Graduation Party for new graduates in the KC area. 10 new women joined us for a happy hour and there was a lot of laughter! I have no doubt these ladies will be amazing additions to our alumnae family!
Don't forget! We are celebrating our Sisterhood on June 3rd! This Sigma reunion will be the perfect time to meet up with old friends and maybe make a few new ones! We are hoping you will grab a sister or 2 and pop in for a hello. It is from 5-8 (or 9) but you can join us anytime and stay as long as you want. Grab a box of wine (or whatever you like to drink) and drop by. We can't wait to see you!
Look below for all of the amazing things that Cindy Rathke has planned for us in the month of June. We have our Sisterhood, a bike ride, a 5K, a happy hour, AND a Military Baby Shower (philanthropy). I hope you can attend any or all of these events!

Daytime Book Club - Ilene Ginardi Burns, CHI:
Greetings Sisters!
Can you believe it? The Daytime Book Club met in person this month! We gathered on May 26th at the Panera's in Town Center Leawood/Overland Park. It is located on 119th between Roe & Ball nearest Dick's. It worked out well for everyone so we plan to meet here again in June on the last Wednesday barring any spike or change to the CDC guidelines.
Cindy Rathke led our discussion about AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE by Tayari Jones.
In June, Connie Stoner has chosen THE REVISED FUNDAMENTALS OF CAREGIVING by Jonathan Evison for our selection and Gail Albauer will be leading the discussion of BIG LIES IN A SMALL TOWN by Diane Chamberlain in July.
We would like to give a huge thanks to Ashley Adorante for setting us up for the whole year on Zoom. We couldn't have done this without you!
Sigma love,
Ilene Burns

A Release from Tri Sigma Nationals
Tri Sigma Eta Alpha Chapter Closing
WOODSTOCK, VA (05/06/21) - It is with great sadness that Sigma Sigma Sigma announces the closing of the Eta Alpha Chapter at Stephens College, effective May 6, following a vote by the Executive Council. The vote by Executive Council came after ongoing conversations regarding the chapter’s viability and concerns expressed by the current chapter members.
The Eta Alpha Chapter has had a decline in membership due to the pandemic, students choosing to transfer from the college, and overall changes at the college and academic programs, making chapter operations extremely difficult and taxing. Unfortunately, continued member terminations led to an increased level of responsibility, falling to too few new members. As the spring 2021 semester progressed, all graduating seniors were granted inactive status and all remaining collegiate members terminated.
“Tri Sigma values its history with Stephens College and the legacy that our members leave behind on the campus,” National President Natalie Moore Averette said. “It is our mission to provide exceptional membership experiences, and we commend the members of the Eta Alpha Chapter for the sisterhood they have built over the past 24 years. The impact they have made on the sorority will be everlasting, and Eta Alpha’s legacy will live on through its alumnae members and forever within Tri Sigma.”
