Mustang’s B.E.A.S.T. Week To Benefit Hearts For Hearing and Trails Elementary Families
Since 2010, Broncos Empowering A Society Together (BEAST) Week has become Mustang High School’s annual philanthropic event contributing over $250,000 to individuals & organizations in the Mustang community. The money raised during this year’s campaign will benefit two families at Mustang Trails Elementary and a portion of the donation will also go to support Hearts For Hearing.
February 28-March 6 is BEAST Week for MPS. While it has traditionally been an MHS event, this year it has been expanded to include the entire district. Last year over $30,000 was raised and donated with the efforts focusing solely on the high school campus. With the entire district now involved, we are hoping to raise even more this year!
Ady Isom - Mustang Trails Elementary - Kindergartener
Ady was recently diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in early October. She has a long road of chemo, radiation, surgeries, and stem cell treatments ahead of her, and her family would greatly benefit from the support of Mustang's community. She is a beautiful and sweet girl with an amazing family who would be so appreciative.
Cindy Hazen - Mustang Trails Elementary - First Grader
Cindy is a first grader at Trails who has been bravely fighting cancer at St. Jude since last year. She is currently on her fourth round of chemo and is in remission. Being away from home as well as medical bills have been a financial hardship for this family.
Hearts for Hearing
Hearts for Hearing's mission statement is to change the lives of children and adults through the attention they provide to identify each individual’s unique hearing needs through their innovative, evidence-based solutions, and family-centered support. While some view hearing loss as a condition that separates people from their loved ones, they seek to restore hope and opportunities. End of the Year 8th Grade Activities
The end of the year is right around the corner and our 8th grade dance (it’s SEMI-formal, not a prom! May 9) and class picnic (May 18) will be here before we know it. Both are parent organized and led activities and cannot take place without many, many parent volunteers.
We had our first parent meeting on February 25 to begin the planning. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 24 @ 6:30 p.m. in the MNMS LIBRARY. Please mark your calendars now and plan to join us! There are many different volunteer roles available!
If you have questions, please email the 8th Grade Assistant Principal, Mr. Hill.
Lunches: 8th 11:13-11:46 & 7th 12:02-12:35
We ask that you only bring food for YOUR student and not bring food for your student’s friends.
Fountain drinks cannot be left for students at lunch. You must be staying to eat lunch with your student if you bring a fountain drink. Otherwise, please bring a drink that is in a sealed container.
If you are planning to check your student out for lunch, please be sure you are here BEFORE lunch begins so that we are not trying to locate your students among the hundreds of students in the cafeteria/commons areas.
Thank you for your cooperation with these expectations.
