Dates to Remember: 9 September: Back to School Night (more information soon)

This photo was taken after a read aloud of a book titled Those Darn Squirrels. You might want to ask your child about Mr. Fookwire, the main character.

Information From Our Nurses

There are students in your child’s class who have nut allergies. A child with nut allergy can develop mild or severe reactions if they come in contact with the said allergen. Please take note of the following measures:

· Please be considerate of your child’s classmates when sending in snacks (if possible, to avoid sending any nuts or nut products)
· Children should be encouraged to wash their hands before and after lunch, prior to returning to the classroom to avoid any cross-contamination.
· For any special occasions, please be reminded that any food brought in to the class should be nut free.

Please contact the nurse office or your homeroom teacher if you have any questions or concern. Thank you for your cooperation

During the first week, students spent two forty-minute writing periods completing our beginning of the year assessment. I now have lots of data to help me plan how best to help students become better writers.

I very much enjoy getting to know your children through their writing!

In the folders that went home on Thursday, you were able to get a glimpse of the math work your children are doing. Every lesson has several parts: fluency practice, concept development, and application to name a few. We're reviewing what was taught last year and building on those skills.
