Parking Lot Reminders
You may have noticed that there are some new signs in the carpool loop.
- The large yellow signs are there to remind everyone to pull all the way forward in the loop. This helps to minimize the congestion on Silver Springs Drive.
- There is NO PARKING along the carpool lane, NO PARKING after the carpool lane along the grass, and NO PARKING in the grass along the carpool lane. This is important for traffic flow within the parking lot and to ensure that busses can fit through.
- If you would like to park, please use a parking spot.
Thank you,
Katie Booth, Principal

“LET’S READ MATH”
A program of Math Enrichment for Second and Third Grade Students
Sponsored by the American Association of University Women Northville-Novi
as part of its commitment to supporting local community education
IMAGINE being rich on one Sunday and poor the next—all because you couldn’t count very well!
IMAGINE learning more about tangrams! Possibly two books in one session!
IMAGINE being a very greedy triangle that turns into an octagon because you want to add more angles!
IMAGINE math as a fun activity for parents and children!
Want to imagine more? Sign up your child and yourself for “Let’s Read Math,” a FREE three-session program that combines familiar children’s literature with fun math activities.
WHY THIS PROGRAM?
- “LET’S READ MATH” was developed by a leading expert, Dr. Claire Passatino, Ed. with the goal of building positive attitudes towards math.
- Dr. Passatino has trained local members of the American Association of University Women Northville-Novi (AAUW-NN).
- Workshops have been held for six years for Northville students in the Spring and Novi students in the Fall. Children and parents alike enjoyed them. This is our sixth year with Northville Library.
- The workshops are designed to be fun! And you and your child will be inspired to follow up with more fun math activities at home. It’s not required, but plan to attend all three sessions!
- Want to know more? Check out www.letsreadmath.com.
There will be THREE 90-minute workshops from 1-2:30 PM for children and their parents/guardians on November 17 and 24, and December 1 at the Northville District Library featuring the listed books:

Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!
Habit 5– Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
What this means: Listen before you talk. In order to communicate effectively, we must first understand each other.
“I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings.”
“I try to see things from their viewpoints.”
“I listen to others without interrupting.”
“I am confident in voicing my ideas.”
“I look people in the eyes when talking.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Listen.
2. Put yourself in the other person’s place.
3. Notice a person’s body language, tone, and reflection in their voice.
