Weekly Update
Arkansas Arts Academy K-6 Newsletter
November 28 - December 2
Update to late arrivals to school in the mornings: We’ve been experiencing an issue with tardiness. Please have your student at school by 8:00. After 8:00 please come inside with your student to check them in.
ONSC This week our 5th grade students took part in a trip to the Ozark Natural Science Center. ONSC offers a unique, immersion-based approach to learning about nature and the natrual sciences. The lessons and activities that our students participated in align with the state science standards. So basically, our students learned about concepts such as biology, ecology, and geology while experiencing them first hand. Nora said, "I enjoyed the hikes. The first hike was 4 hours and we ate lunch in a really pretty place with an amazing view." I heard from Finley who said, "It was cool to hear the animals in the woods on our hike. " | School Report Card The state of Arkansas requires the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education to prepare and publish a school performance report for each public school in the state and make the report available to the public. The report provides information about each school, district, and the state, including achievement, growth, teacher qualification, school environment, and more. I'm proud to announce that the K-6 campus received a B this year. More info can be found here. The DESE website also has this video. | Thankful I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving Break. I had a great week of rest, cooking, eating, shopping, eating, decorating, watching football, eating, and spending time with family. Additionally, I spent some time reflecting on what I am thankful for. Like many of you, I am grateful for my health, an amazing family, my faith, and so on. But right now, I want each of you to know how much I appreciate you. We have the best students, teachers, staff, and families. Thank you for all that you do. |
