MES Monday Messenger
March 22, 2021
Admin Corner
We have now completed our third week of hybrid learning, and we are looking forward to in seat learning happening at both Mammoth Middle School and Mammoth High School starting Monday March 22, 2021. We are very proud of the work of our students, families, and MUSD staff and teachers who have been collaboratively working to provide new learning opportunities for our students.
For drop off and pick up, we appreciate everyone's cooperation in the parking lot. We are working to move traffic in the MES parking lot as quickly as possible and you can help by pulling all the way forward and not leaving excess space between cars. We know wait times have increased, however the total wait on Meridian only lasts about 15-20 minutes. Remember that we can’t allow students to cross Meridian alone for any reason! On site, please remember to pull all the way to the top of the circle before stopping. Please remain in your vehicles, and have a spot ready on the passenger side. Students can ONLY enter and exit from the passenger side of the vehicle.
Also, it is very important that families remember not to park in the surrounding neighborhoods. In particular, the Trails is not a student pickup, drop off or parking area. Homeowners in the Trails are having issues with snow removal, people leaving things in driveways and increased infringement on their private property. Please help MES be a good neighbor!
We will continue to monitor students and staff for COVID symptoms, and we understand that closing cohorts can be concerning. Please rest assured that if your student has been a close contact with anyone who tests positive for COVID-19, we will inform you both via phone call and a written Parent Square notification. We maintain strict cohorts within the school in order to accurately contact trace if there is any kind of exposure. We are committed to providing a safe learning environment for all our students and staff.
COVID-19 Symptoms Flowchart
Students who are home need to complete asynchronous work by checking Google Classroom and completing work assigned with Imagine Language and Literacy, Espanol and Math daily.
Please see the flowcharts below for guidance as to what to do if your child has symptoms or comes in close contact with someone positive for COVID-19. These are also linked to our website here.
