Summer School 2020 Sign Ups
It is the time of year to begin preparing for Blair Oaks Summer School. We are planning to host summer school provided funding is available through the state. Plans are proceeding with the understanding that if the state makes any cuts in funding, our summer school program could be cancelled. We will continue to monitor the protocols set forth by the Cole County Health Department regarding COVID-19. Communication regarding summer school will be relayed through online newsletters and the elementary school website.

For anyone interested in their child attending Summer School, please fill out the appropriate enrollment form below. The deadline for first-priority enrollment is Friday, April 17, 2020.
*Please note: There are two different enrollment forms. Please choose the form for the grade your child will be ENTERING in the 2020-2021 school year.
A confirmation email with all summer school information will be sent out at the end of April/beginning of May.
Who: Students entering grades K-4 and grades 5-8 in the 2020-2021 school year
*Students entering grades 5-8 will choose their class preference on the provided form.
When: Mondays-Thursdays (No Fridays)
Duration: Session 1 (May 27 - June 10) and Session 2 (June 11 - June 25)
Time: 7:45am-3:00pm
Cost: Free enrollment. Only the cost of breakfast and lunch will be due.

Driver's Education
In order to better serve students and make best use of our facility, there will be a maximum enrollment of 50 students who can participate in Driver’s Education.
Students must be 15 years of age by June 15, 2020 to enroll.
All students enrolling in Driver’s Education must submit payment with the application (link to application provided below along with mailing address for payment). The fee for Blair Oaks’ Residents is $45.00. The fee for Non-Residents is $100.00.
Students residing in Blair Oaks School District will receive first priority in placement through April 10th. Open enrollment, including out-of-district students, will occur through May 1st. The final day to submit any application will be May 1st. Students living in another school district may apply prior to April 10th but will be placed on a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis. If the maximum capacity of 50 has not been reached by April 10th, those students on the waiting list will be included until enrollment cap is met.
Enrollment Form (included below): Please make sure each item is completed. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Bus service will be provided to those who reside in Blair Oaks School District. Summer school routes will be different than normal bus routes. There will be designated pick-up/drop-off locations; however, stops will be limited. Pleas see the link provided below for bus routes.
30 classroom hours of study time scheduled for May 27-28 and June 1-3 (7:45AM – 3:00PM)
All classroom hours must be attended to pass the class. Eighteen (18) driving hours will be scheduled around student needs as much as possible. To receive a letter stating you have completed the requirements for driver education, you must complete all requirements with a licensed driver’s education instructor. If classroom hours are missed for any reason, a completion certificate will not be issued. Classes will be held in the high school. Additional information will be posted prior to the start of summer school.
A email with the completed registration form will be emailed to you within a few days. Please print and send it in with payment. If you do not have access to a printer, please contact Tara Bishop or Dr. Melinda Aholt.

Summer School Physical Education 2020
The high school summer school will mirror the elementary summer school schedule with the exception one extra day added to the first session.
Only one session of P.E. will be offered during summer school.
PE – Session 1: (10 Days) – May 27 & 28, June 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11
Each day will run from 7:45 a.m.-3:00 p.m
Students missing more than one day of class, regardless of reason, will not be awarded credit.
