Bobcat Bulletin January 1, 2023
Keep Going Keep Growing
A MESSAGE FROM MRS. ANDERSON
Dear Bobcat Families:
Happy New Year!! During winter break, I hope you had the chance to catch up with friends and family and enjoy some rest and relaxation. I took the time to reflect on 2022 and think about the work and opportunities that lie ahead for 2023.
With the start of the new year, we have so much to look forward to in the coming weeks. We will have our positive behavior support reward activity to celebrate our accomplishments at the end of quarter 2. Additionally, quarter benchmark testing begins January 5th for students in grades 3rd – 5th and FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking) Progress Monitoring for grades K-5 will begin on January 17th. Please communicate with your child’s classroom teacher regarding specific dates for testing.
The New Year is also a great time to review important information:
- Attendance matters!! Please ensure your child is on time, every day.
- Dressing for cold weather – January and February can bring colder weather. Please be sure to send your child to school with a sweatshirt and long pants/jeans on cold weather days.
- Dismissal changes must be called in to our front office by 2:30 pm.
- Address/Phone Numbers/Contacts: Please contact our front office with any changes regarding contact information.
As always, thank you for being a positive and supportive school community. It takes all of us, working together, to create a safe, successful learning environment for our students.
In partnership,
Mrs. Anderson, Principal

Save the Date: January 23 - January 27 Book Fair
We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.
Specific classroom book fair shopping date and time will be sent home closer to the event.
Our Book Fair offers eWallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a future eWallet.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
We’re excited to celebrate our love of books together at the Book Fair. We look forward to seeing your child there!

Classroom Celebrations
- Fall Festival
- Winter Holiday
- Valentine’s Day
- End of Year
On the classroom celebration days, refreshments and treats must be store bought. Treats/refreshments are not permitted to be brought into the building for dates other than the four celebrations listed above. Each classroom teacher acknowledges a child’s birthday in various ways. In all cases, children are recognized on their special day. Birthday parties will not be held at school.
To help avoid disruption of activities, we ask that you refrain from having flowers or balloons delivered to your child at school. These items cannot be transported by bus, nor delivered to the classroom during school hours.
